My First Blogger Award !

Friday, January 20, 2012

The very sweet Mackensie awarded me yesterday with the Versatile Blogger Award! And I am so extremely grateful and happy she chose to give this to me! I've always seen them floating in the air, but never thought I'd get one. Be sure to check out her blog too!

This award requires me to give 7 random facts about myself, so I'll take this time to re-introduce myself to some of you who are just joining my blog!

1. I am ADDICTED to the shows Criminal Minds and Law & Order SVU. Sometimes I feel like Olivia Benson and Garcia are friends of mine.
2. I am pretty tall, standing at 5'8" and rarely wear heels so I am not taller than my husband since we are the same height.
3. I really enjoy playing card games. I'm a mastermind at Rummy. Or at least I think so.
4. Because I am from Louisiana and actually lived in a swamp, I am frequently asked if I lived like the "swamp people" and the answer is NO. I know how to enunciate.
5. I am semi fluent in Spanish and from from Hispanic decent. That being said, you can often find me listening to the Latin radio stations!
6. My current travel Bucket List is: Bali, Seycehlle Islands, Greece, Ireland, Australia, Africa (Kenya), and Amsterdam.
7. I studied abroad in Barcelona in the summer of 2010 with my husband (then he was my boyfriend).

I would like to pass the Blogger award on to:
Shades of Gray
i basically LOVE their blogs & you should check them out too! Pass on the Love ladies :)
Pass on the love ladies and give some fun facts about yourself and then award some of your favorite bloggers!
* Tomorrow I will post about my Liebster Blog Award!!

  1. Love it! I'm obsessed with SVU! I'm like...awkwardly attracted to Stabler. I just think he is SO sexy. I can't believe the first season came out over 10 years ago!!

  3. Congratulations, friend! That's wonderful news...very happy for you. I also LOVE Criminal Minds (check out the series The Wire if you like that sort of stuff...AMAZING) Also, my 5-year old son is addicted to Swamp People - it's become a cult hit in our household. We're heading down to South Carolina to visit family in April and he wants to know if we can go visit Troy and Willy. Told him I'm working on it. ;) (ps. your comment "I can annunciate" had me laughing out loud...)

    1. janita! Thanks so much you're too sweet! I am definitely going to look into The Wire, because we've almost seen all the Criminal Minds episodes and don't know what to do. By the way, I do have a connection to Bog Mike, so if you do ever go down, let me know! Have a great day!!

  10. Britt! I may just take you up on that offer one day! My son would lose his mind. We just checked and it would be another 12-hour drive from Hilton Head to Hammond...with 3 kids that may just put us over the edge! Especially considering we'll have already taken two flights from Regina to get there. Did you see the t-shirts you can buy online at History network? "Choot Em!" and "He Gottaway Lizbitt". I'm totally getting these. And yes, we've heard for years that The Wire is one of the greatest series ever made and is it ever...5 seasons, each focuses on a different perspective to reveal the socioeconomic fabric of the city (in this case, Baltimore but works for any city, I imagine). One season it's from the perspective of the drug dealers, then the city police, then political leaders, union dock workers and so on. It's brilliaaaaaaaaaant! Same characters throughout so you really get invested in them. Almost cried when it was over. Enjoy. xo
ps. incidentally, I have a friend whose relative is in law enforcement...he says it's unreal how many copies of The Wire they see when they conduct drug busts throughout the year. It's so realistic even the real dudes watch it!
