Home Tour: Dining Room

Tuesday, August 21, 2012

Well today marks the first day of the Home Tour Series! I am so excited to show off our dining room! I love this room and had so much fun decorating. Joel and I came from a tiny apartment where our living room and dining room were one. We could not even pull out the leaf at our old place, so when we found out we could expand our table I was so thrilled!
When decorating our home, I always knew I wanted white pieces. Everyone who sees our chairs and couches asks me how I could manage white furniture, but I love it, and honestly with the cushions being washable it's so easy. Plus, thanks to Ikea, if a serious wine leak happened, their covers are very inexpensive to replace. White is airy, free, crisp, and peaceful, so I knew I wanted it as the main color. If you're thinking about going white, then I think you should do it. I don't regret it one bit!

Check the bottom of the post for item specifics. Enjoy!

Well, there you have it! There are still some things I want to do, but for now, this room is complete! I am making a goal to try to have weekly home series posts. I have two rooms and both bathrooms either done or very close to being done, so I have a feeling those will be next. I hope you liked the first series!

  1. I really don't think the word obsessed is strong enough to describe how much I LOVE this room.

Can I be you when I grow up?!?!

  3. Wow! This looks like something out of a magazine!

I came across Nadeau in Minneapolis, became obsessed, and didn't realize they had them all over the place. Thinking about it now, I bet it started in New Orleans. It's too cool to be from anywhere else!

  7. This room is beautiful! I love the look of roman shades behind curtains. My husband and I will be moving into our new house in a few weeks and want to go with the same look. Hanging shades makes me nervous as I have never done it before. Would you recommend hanging them yourself or having someone come install them?

  40. Wow, I think I must be your long lost sister who has the exact same style. I literally love white too. We are in an apartment now and we have my husbands furniture that is all dark wood. When we get a house, I am determined to have a fresh, clean, peaceful white house. I am dying for a white couch and my husband keeps saying it's not practical. Who cares, it will look amazing!! I also love your place mats. They remind me of burlap, which I'm also obsessed with recently. Well do girl! I can't WAIT to see the rest of your house. What a great series and your pics are wonderful. Please don't think I'm crazy, I just love this. Ha. I'm going to pin. :)
