Baby Scarlett, 8 months old!

Wednesday, January 8, 2014

As y'all may know already, this update is waaay late! But, many of you know that I have been experiencing difficulties with my new blog domain, so now that my blog is up and running I can resume to regular posting :) Some of my old links at the moment may not be working, but that will be sorted out soon as well. Thanks you guys!

Scarlett is wearing her monthly stickers from the baby bump bundle

Weight: Scarlett is 14.10 lbs!

Health: Doing great! We did go through her first cold a few weeks back and that was rough on all four of us (Rayne included). I really never expected to go back to sleeping like we did in the newborn days. We all learned a lot and are glad know what to do. She also had her first diaper rash just a few days before she turned 8 months. We're not sure what caused it, but we just felt so bad for her. It cleared up within a few days!

Sleep: Scarlett is sleeping well, but we will always have a random night of wake ups. She can usually sleep from 7:30pm till 5:40ish. When she wakes up that early, she just eats and then goes back to sleep for another couple of hours which is nice.
Naps are getting better. We now do at least one nap in the crib per day. And that helps me and my sanity for the most part. It is so nice to get a little break for 45 mins to an hour just to tidy up, do photography, etc. She will usually nap three times per day. But, it's so bright in her room during the morning, so I just let her sleep on me. She will nap again in the afternoon, and usually cat nap around 5.

Social: Scarlett, like always is still very social! She has stayed in Alabama this month, but has doing so many fun things like: Meeting Santa, went to the Zoo light safari, visited friends in Huntsville, celebrated Thanksgiving, and much more!

Diet: Still doing awesome in breastfeeding department! She nurses between 4-6 times per day and then will get solids 2-3 times per day. So far she has eaten: Pears, Bananas, Apples, Mangos, Carrots, Peas, Green Beans, Sweet Potatoes, Apricots, Broccoli, PANCAKES (ha), Happy Baby Puffs, Squash, Butternut Squash, and Spinach.

Clothes: 6-12 month clothes are what we mostly put her in. 9 month is a bit more fitting. Some 3-6 month outfits she still fits in as well.

Baby Gear Love: She loves her 4moms Breeze Playard, Fisher Price Activity Table, and really she is just into food these days :)

Crying: She only cries when she is hungry, needs a diaper change, is tired, or is bored.

Likes: She loves to nurse, like usual. Loves to play with other babies, standing on her own, watch mommy dance, play with Rayne/pull her fur, and loves attention!

Dislikes:  She does not like to be left alone for too long. Does not like my singing voice.

Postpartum: Feeling really great! Have started to do some ab work outs and hopefully after the new year I will be walking more and maybe running? All my mama friends are hard core runners, so I feel a little push to get into shape and run with them!

Milestones: Scarlett has been scratching off milestones left and right. A few days after she turned 7 months, she said Mama! I was so happy since she said Dada a few days before. Now she says Mama all the time- I love it! Scarlett is a fast crawler now, she has it down pact, and I can't keep up with her. She is now comfortable standing up holding onto something. We put the legs on the activity center so she could play standing up. She loves that. She's very smart, I think she gets that from her Daddy :)

  2. I was thinking the same things as the person above^^^ Ha!

also, how do you prepare her spinach? I've been wanting to give Eleanor some but didn't know whether to just steam it first or give in strips raw.
